This website has specifically
been designed to facilitate a new translation of
the New Testament... Live, here on the web. The author wishes, through this site, to consolidate a translation of the New Testament
that is fundamentally accurate to the Greek and not afraid to depart
from the customary rendering. About
the author
This is a comparison of six major and
most widely used Greek manuscripts, compiled and unified to form 1
final Greek master text, which will be used for the subsequent parts
of the Translation5. (Alexandrian, Byzantine/Majority, Nestle-Aland,
Scrivener, Stephens, Westcott & Hort)
The English Transcription
is using the English of
The Sylvanus Interlinear2
but this time without the Greek above it. Think of it as reading
Greek, but with English words, and in keeping with the same word order
as found in The Sylvanus Interlinear2! (Helps you think in Greek)
Here, The Literal Translation is a transitional bridge between
The English Transcription3 (above) and The Sylvanus Translation5 (below). It really is the same
as The English Transcription
3, but this time with an English grammatical
structure. Most details will be kept.
The fruits of the previous parts1-2-3-4have finally ripened to
produce the target of this website: An accurate English
translation5! It keeps as close as possible to The Literal Translation4, but
has been polished
for readability. Annotations, notes and appendixes
are added to this text.
Some may not be so familiar with the language of the Bible,
or may not be so versatile in the English language. An easier to read
version may be needed. Additionally, among the current trend to
create versions of the New Testament based on interpretations of
paraphrases (highly interpretative themselves), or versions designed for
children but read from the pulpit, there is a serious need to not only
be able to trust that 'version', but also be able to relax and read a
version that is accurate and simple, without it being simplistic or
unnecessarily compromising.
This will enrich our appreciation of Jesus our Anointed Sovereign, as
the four gospels are being compiled into only one narrative. This
final project uses the text of the The Sylvanus Translation5
- whilst in
progress !
