Forasmuch as many undertook to compile a narrative about the acts accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning had come to be eyewitnesses and servants of the Enunciation handed over to us, it also seemed {good} to me, having thoroughly pursued over all things, to write them to you in sequence, most excellent Theophile, that you would recognise the sureness of the enunciations about which you have been informed.
