46Now
Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Master 47and
my spirit is jubilant upon God my saviour 48as
He looked upon the lowliness of His servant girl, for lo! From right now all
generations will count me blissful 49as
the Powerful One designed great things for me, and holy is His name, 50and
His mercy to those fearing Him is for generations (and generations*). 51He
designed mighty things with His arm, He scattered those haughty in their heart's
thinking and 52He
pulled down powerful ones from thrones and elevated lowly ones. 53He
satiates with good things those hungering, and send away empty those who are
rich. 54He
relieved Israel His servant in remembrance of His everlasting mercy 55to
Abraham and to his seed, just as He spoke to our fathers." 56So
Mary stayed with her about three months, and returned to her house.
57Now
Elizabeth's time to give birth was fulfilled, and she gave birth
to a son, 58and
her neighbourhood and kinsfolk heard that the Master was
magnifying His mercy to her, so they rejoiced with her. 59And
it came to be, on the eighth day, that they went to circumcise
the infant and would call it by the name of its father, Zechariah.
60And,
responding, its mother said: "No! But he will be called
John."61But
they said to her: "There is no one of your kindred who is called
by that name" 62So
they nodded to its father for whatever he would be willing to
call it, 63and
having requested a note-tablet, he wrote saying: "John is its
name."
And they all wondered. 64Then
instantly, his mouth was opened up, and his tongue, and he
spoke, blessing God. 65And
fear came to be on all those neighbouring them, and in the whole
mountainous region of Judea these utterances were being spoken
of, 66and
all those hearing appointed them in their heart, saying:
"what
will then this infant be?" for the hand of the Master was with
it.
67Now,
Zechariah, his father, was filled with holy spirit, and
prophesied, saying: 68"Blessed is the Master, the God of Israel,
because He gave attention to and designed a redemption for His
people, 69and
raised up a horn of salvation to us in the house of David His
servant, 70just
as He spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets from time
immemorial, 71salvation
from our enemies and from the hand of all those hating us, 72to
fulfil mercy for our fathers and in remembrance of His holy
covenant, 73an
oath which He swore to our father Abraham, 74that,
having been rescued from the hand of our enemies, to give us to
offer service to Him without fear 75in
virtue and justice, in His sight, all our days (of our life*). 76And,
(moreover*) you infant, will be called prophet of the Most High,
for you will go ahead of the Master in His sight, to make His ways
ready, 77to
give the knowledge of salvation to His people in the absolution
of their sins 78through
God's merciful compassions. In it, a daybreak has given us
attention from on high 79to
light up those sitting in darkness and in death's shadow, and to
level our feet into a way of peace."
80So
the infant grew and his spirit was empowered, and he was in the
deserts until the day of his exposure to Israel.

1Now
it came to be, in those days, that a decree by Caesar Augustus
came out for the entire inhabited world to be registered. 2This
first registration came to be from the ruling of Quirinus of
Syria. 3So
all went about their way to be registered, each into their own
city. 4And moreover, Joseph went up from Galilee out of Nazareth
into Judea to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, he
being {born} through the house and parentage of David, 5to
register with Mary who, having been [married / engaged] to him, was heavy
with child. 6Then
it came to be, them being there, that the days of her giving
birth were fulfilled. 7And
she gave birth to her son, the firstborn, and wrapped him and
reclined him in the manger because there was no place for them
in the inn.
8And
shepherds were in the same region, camping out and guarding the
night watches over their flock, 9and
(lo and behold!*) a messenger of the Master came upon them and
the glory of the Master shone around them; and they got
frightened with great fear. 10And
the messenger said to them: "Don't take fright, for look! I
bring a good message to You which will be a great joy to all the
people, 11because
to You today, in the city of David, was given birth a saviour who is
Sovereign
Christ {the anointed Sovereign}. 12And
this is the sign to you: You will find a baby lying in a manger,
having been wrapped." 13And
suddenly, a multitude of the heavenly army came to be with the
messenger, praising God and saying: 14"Glory
in the highermosts to God and on Earth! Peace among people of
benevolence!"
15And it came to be, as those
messengers departed from them into heaven, that the shepherds
said to one another: "let us go at once through to Bethlehem
and, this utterance having come to be, let us catch sight of it,
which the Master has got us to know!" 16And
they went, hurrying on, and they found out Mary and Joseph, and
the baby lying in the manger. 17Moreover,
on catching sight of it, they [got to know / made known round]
about the utterance that had been spoken to them about this
infant. 18And
all those who heard about what was spoken to them by the
shepherds wondered, 19but
Marie preserved all these utterances, convening them in her
heart. 20And
the shepherds returned back, glorifying and praising God over
all that which they heard and caught sight of, just as it was
spoken to them.
21And
when the eight days for [him / the infant] to be circumcised
were fulfilled, then his name was called Jesus, the one having
been called by the messenger prior to his conceiving in the
womb. 22So when the days of
[their / her] purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they
brought him up into Jerusalem to present him to the Master, 23just
as it has been written in the law of the Master that every male
opening up a womb, will be called holy to the Master {Exodus
12:2,11-16}, 24and
to give a sacrifice of a pair of turtledove or two younglings of
doves, according to what has been said in the law of the Master.
25And look! A man whose name was Simeon was in Jerusalem, and this man,
righteous and reverent, was in expectation of Israel' s
consolation, and the holy spirit was upon him. 26Also
it had been conveyed to him by the holy spirit that he would not
see death (ever*) before he would have caught sight of the
Anointed of the Master. 27And
he went in the spirit into the sacred place and to where the
parents of the infant Jesus were to do according to what was customary
to the
law about him, 28and
he took him up into his arms and blessed God, and said: 29"O,
Owner! You are now letting your servant go in peace according
to your utterance, 30because
my eyes have seen your salvage, 31which
you made ready in front of all the people, 32a
light of revelation to nations and a glory for your people
Israel." 33And
it was, as [Joseph / his father] and his mother were
wondering over these things being spoken about him, 34that
Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother:
"Look: This one is placed for the downfall and resurrection
of many in Israel, and for a disputed sign 35so
that whatever reasoning from many hearts may be revealed, and
(moreover,*) a sword will go through your own soul." 36And
there, was Anna, a prophetess, daughter of Phanuel from Asher's
tribe, herself well advanced in years, and who lived with a man
seven years from her virginity. 37And
she was a widow for eighty-four years who never withdrew from
the sacred place, offering service with fasts and supplications.
38And
in the same hour, coming on, she made a profession of [God / the
Master] and spoke about him to all those in expectation of
Jerusalem's redemption. 39So
as they had ended all the things according to the law of the
Master, they went back to Galilee, into their own city Nazareth.
40Furthermore,
the infant grew and he was empowered (in spirit*), being filled with wisdom,
and the grace of God was upon him.
41Now,
his parent went their way into Jerusalem from year to year to
the festival of the Pass Over, 42and
when he was twelve years old, they went up (to Jerusalem*)
according to their custom, and that of the festival, 43and
when the days of their returning were completed, the boy Jesus
stayed behind in Jerusalem and [his parents / Joseph and his
mother] didn't realise it, 44but
concluding him to be in the caravan, they went a day's journey
and searched him out in among their kinfolks and those known, 45and
not finding him, they returned into Jerusalem, searching him
(out*). 46And
it came to be that after three days they found him in the sacred
place, sitting down in the midst of the instructors, listening
and questioning them 47(moreover,
all those hearing him were astounded over his comprehension and
responses), 48and
catching sight of him, they were astonished and his mother said
to him: "Child, why did you do so to us? Look: your father
as well as I have been seeking you, distressed?" 49And
he said to them: "Why were you seeking me for? Have you not
perceived that is has to be that I be among those of my
father?" 50but
they didn't comprehend the utterance, which he spoke to them. 51And
he went down with them and went into Nazareth, subjecting
himself to them, and his mother preserved all the utterances in
her heart. 52And
Jesus progressed in wisdom, stature and grace beside God and
men.

1Moreover,
in the fifteenth year of the rulership of Tiberius Caesar, when
Pontius Pilate was ruling Judea, during Herod's tetrarchy of
Galilee, his brother Philip being tetrarch of Iturea {Golan
Heights} and the region of Trachonitidis {South-west Syria}, and
during Lysanias' tetrarchy of Abilene {south-east Lebanon}, 2under
the chief priests Annas and Caiaphas, God's utterance came to be
upon John, the son of Zechariah, in the desert. 3And
he went into all the regions around the Jordan proclaiming
baptism of repentance, unto an absolution of sins, 4as
have been written in the book (of the enunciations*) of Isaiah
the prophet: "A voice of one crying out in the desert:
'make ready the way of the Master, produce
His paths straight.'' 5Every
valley will be fully filled and every mountain and hill will be
lowered, and what is twisted will be straight, and rough ways
plain, 6and
all flesh will view the salvage of God." 7Therefore he said
to the crowd coming out to be baptised by him: "Offspring
of vermin, who indicated to you to escape from the intended
ignition? 8Therefore
produce fruits worthy of repentance and, would you not begin to
say among yourselves: 'a father we have: Abraham!' for I say to
you that God is of power to rouse children to Abraham out of
these stones. 9And
moreover, the axe is already lying toward the root of the trees.
Therefore, every tree not producing fine fruit is cut out and
tossed into the fire." 10And
the crowd questioned him saying: "What then should we be
doing?" 11So
he said to them: "The one who has two tunics, let him give
to the one who hasn't, and the one who has foods let him do
likewise." 12And
moreover, tax collectors came to be baptised and they said to
him: "Instructor, what should we be doing?" 13So
he said to them: "Practice nothing more beside what has
been set up for you." 14And
also those serving in the army questioned him saying: "And
us, what should we be doing?" And he said to them:
"You should terrorise no one, nor should you calumniate,
and be content with your wages." 15But,
as the people were in anticipation and all in ponderment in
their hearts about John, whether or not he could be the Anointed,
16John
responded, saying to all: "I indeed am baptising you in
water, but one stronger than me is coming, whose sandals' straps
I am not enough to loosen. He will baptise you in holy
spirit and fire, 17he
whose fork is in his hand to purge his threshing floor and to
assemble the grain into his barn. But the chaff, he will burn
down by an inextinguishable fire." 18Therefore,
with indeed many other things, he gave the good message,
consoling the people.
21,22So,
it came to be, that once everyone of the people were baptised,
that whilst Jesus was being baptised and praying, that heaven
was opened up, and that the holy spirit descended on him like
the bodily apparition of a dove, and that a voice came out of
heaven (saying*): "You are my son, the beloved, of whom I have
approved."
23And
he, Jesus began at about thirty years old, being as it was
concluded son of Joseph {this line is accepted as that of
Mary, represented by Joseph, her husband, as it was custom},

1,2Moreover,
full of holy spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led
in the spirit into the desert, forty days, being tried by the
Devil, and he consumed nothing on any of those days, and whilst
they were concluding, he (eventually*) hungered. 3[And
/ So] the Devil said to him: "If son of God you are, say to
this stone that it should come to be bread." 4And
Jesus responded to him (saying*): "It has been written that
man will not live on bread alone (but on every utterance of
God*) {Deuteronomy 8:3}." 5And
leading him up (into a high mountain*), [he / the Devil] showed
him in a flash of time all the kingships of the inhabited world.
6And
the Devil said to him: "I will give you the whole of This
authority, and the glory of them {kingships}, because to me
it has been handed over, and I give it to whomsoever I may be
willing. 7Therefore,
if ever you should prostate yourself in my sight, all will be
yours." 8And
Jesus, answering, said to him: "(Get off behind me,
Satan.*) It has been written: 'you will prostrate yourself to God
your Master, and to Him alone you will offer service. {Deuteronomy
6:13}'" 9So,
he led him into Jerusalem and stood him on the wing of the
sacred place, and said to him: "If (the*) son of God you
are, throw yourself down from here, 10because
it has been written that His messengers should be mandated about
you in order to protect you, 11and
(that*) they should take you up in their hands thereby you should
not thrust your foot toward a stone. {Psalms
91:11,12}" 12And
Jesus, answering, said to him that it had been said 'you will
not try the Master your God out. {Deuteronomy
6:16}' 13And
concluding all trial, the Devil withdrew from him until an
appropriate time
