19And
this is the witness of John when the Judeans commissioned
(toward him*) priests and Levites out of Jerusalem that they
could ask him: "Who are you?" 20And
he professed, and didn't deny because he professed: "I am
not the Anointed." 21And
they asked: "who therefore are you? Are you Elijah?"
And he said: "I am not." "Are you the
prophet?" And he answered: "No." 22Therefore
they said to him: "Who are you that we may give an answer
to those sending us. What do you say about yourself?" 23He
spoke out: "I am a voice of one crying out in the desert:
'straighten the way of the Master!' just as Isaiah the prophet
said. {Isaiah 40:3}" 24(And
those commissioned were from the Pharisees {the
separatists}.) 25And
they asked him and said: "Why therefore are you baptising
if you are not the Anointed nor Elijah nor the
prophet?" 26John
answered them, saying: "I baptise in water, (but*) in your
midst one is standing whom you have not perceived. 27(This
is the*) One coming behind me (who is ahead of me*) whose
sandal's strap I am not worthy that I should loosen. 28These
things came to be in Bethany on the other side of the Jordan
where John was baptising.
29On
the next day, (John*) looked at Jesus coming toward him and
said: "Watch! The lamb of God, the one lifting the sin
of man's world! 30This
is [over / about] whom I said: 'behind me is coming a man who
came to be in front of me because he was ahead of me'. 31I
myself had not perceived him, but nonetheless, I came baptising
in water for this reason: That he be made visible to
Israel." 32And
John testified, saying this: "I have beheld the spirit
descending as a dove out of heaven, and it stayed upon him. 33I
myself had not perceived him, but nonetheless, the one sending
me to baptise in water, that one said: 'on whomever you should
perceive the spirit descending, and staying on him, this is the
one baptising in holy spirit.' 34I
myself have seen and have testified that This is the son of
God!"
35Again
on the next day, John, and two of his trainees, stood, 36and
staring at Jesus walking about, he said: "Watch! The lamb
of God!" 37And
his two trainees heard him speaking, and they followed Jesus. 38Moreover,
Jesus, turning on himself, and beholding them following, said to
them: "What are you seeking?" So they said to him:
"Rabbi (which is translated instructor), where are you
staying?" He said to them: "come on, and you shall
see!" 39(Therefore,*)
The time being about four o'clock in the evening, they went, and
saw where he was staying, and they stayed beside him for the
day. 40Andrew,
Simon-Peter's brother, was one of those two hearing John out and
following him. 41This
one first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him:
"We have found the Messiah! {:Christ} (Which is interpreted
(the*) Anointed)" 42(And*)
he led him toward Jesus. Jesus, staring at him said: "You
are Simon, the son of John, (but*) you will be called Cephas!
{:Peter} (Which is translated Rock)"
43On
the next day, [Jesus / he] willed to go out into Galilee, and he
found Philip and [Jesus] said to him: "Follow me!" 44Moreover,
Philip was from Bethsaida, from Andrew and Peter's city. 45Philip
found Nathaniel and said to him: "We have found whom Moses
writes of in the law, and the prophets: Jesus son of Joseph! One
from Nazareth!" 46And
Nathaniel said to him: "Is any good able to come out of
Nazareth?" Philip said to him: "Come! And see {for
yourself}." 47Jesus
caught sight of Nathaniel coming toward him, and said about him:
"Watch! Truly an Israelite in whom there's no
decoy!" 48Nathaniel said to him: "How
come you got to know me?" And Jesus said to him: "Before
Philip called, you being under the fig tree, I got to watch you." 49Nathaniel
responded (and said*) to him: "Instructor! You ARE the son
of God! You ARE (the*) king of Israel!" 50Jesus
answered and said to him: "Because I said to you that I
watched you underneath the fig tree you believe! Greater things
than these you will see!" 51And
he said to him: "Absolutely truthfully I say to you: You
will (henceforth*) see heaven opened up and the messengers of God going up and
down over the son of man."

1Now
on the third day, there came to be a wedding in Cana of Galilee,
and Jesus' mother was there. 2Moreover,
Jesus and his trainees were invited to the wedding, 3and,
being short of wine, Jesus' mother said to him: "They have
no wine." 4(And*)
Jesus said to her: "What is this to me, and to you woman.
My hour is not yet come." 5His
mother said to the attendants: "do whatsoever he may say to
you." 6(Moreover, there, according to purification of the
Judeans, were lying six water vessels, each having room for about
100 Litres.) 7Jesus
said to them: "Fill the water vessels!" and they fill
them to the brim. 8And
he said to them: "Scoop it right now, and carry it to the
maîSo they carried it, 9but,
as the maître d'hôtel
tasted the water (that had come to be wine), and not having seen
where it was from (but the attendants who scooped it did), the
maître d'hôtel called the
bridegroom 10and
he said to him: "All men first of all appoint the fine
wine, and whenever they would be drunk, (then*) the lesser one. You have
safeguarded the fine wine for until now." 11Jesus
performed this beginning of signs in Cana of Galilee, and made
his glory visible, and his trainees believed in him. 12After
this, he went down into Capernaum, he, his mother, his brothers
and his trainees, but they didn't stay there many days.
13Now
the Pass Over of the Judeans was near, and Jesus went up into
Jerusalem, 14and,
in the sacred place, he found sitting down the moneychanger and
those selling bovine, sheep and doves, 15and
making a whip out of ropes, he expelled all those by the sheep
and the bovines out of the sacred place, and he poured out the
moneychangers' change and overturned the tables, 16and
to those selling the doves he said: "Take these off from
here! Do not make my father's house a merchantry house!" 17(Moreover*) His trainees were reminded that it had been written:
"The zeal for Your house is what has eaten me up. {Psalm
69:9}" 18Therefore
the Judeans responded and said to him: "Because you perform
these things, what sign are you showing us?" 19Jesus
answered and said to them: "You break this temple down, and
I will raise it in three days!" 20Therefore
the Judeans said: "In forty six years this temple was
built! And in three days will you raise it?" 21(But
him, he spoke about the temple of his body. 22When
therefore he was raised from the dead, his trainees were
reminded that he said this and believed the scriptures and the
enunciation which Jesus said (to them*).) 23Moreover,
as he was in Jerusalem at the Pass Over, the festival, many
believed in his name, observing his signs, which he performed, 24but
he, Jesus, did not entrust himself to them, since his knowing
them all, 25and
because he had no need that any should bear witness about man,
for he had come to know what was in man.

1Now
out of the Pharisees, was a man, Nicodemus was his name. 2This
one went to [him/Jesus] at night and said to him:
"Instructor, we have perceived that you are an instructor
come from God, for no one is of power to perform these signs
which you perform, should God ever not be with him. 3Jesus
responded and said to him: "Absolutely truthfully I say to
you: Should any ever not be born from above, he is not able to
perceive God's kingship." 4Nicodemus
said to him: "How is a man able, being elderly, to be born?
He isn't able to enter into his mother's womb a second time and
be born!" 5Jesus
responded: "Absolutely truthfully I say to you: Should any
ever not be born out of water and of spirit, he is not able to
enter into God's kingdom. 6What
is born from the flesh, is flesh, and what is born from the
spirit, is spirit. 7You
shouldn't wonder that I said to you 'you {plural} have to
be born from above'. 8[The
wind blows where it wills and you hear the sound of it, but you
have not caught sight of where it comes from/The spirit breathes
where it wills, and you hear its voice, but you have not
perceived where it comes from] and where it gets off. Thus is
everyone who has been born from the spirit." 9Nicodemus
answered and said to him: "How can these things come to
be?" 10And
Jesus said to him: "You are the instructor of Israel and
you haven't come to know these? Absolutely truthfully I say to
you: 11That
which we have perceived, we speak of, and that which we have
seen, we testify of, and our testimony you {pl.} do
not receive. 12If
I said to you {pl.} earthly things and you {pl.}
don't believe, how would you believe if I should ever say to you
{pl.} heavenly things? 13And
no one has ascended into heaven, except he who has descended out
of heaven, the Son of Man (the one in heaven*), 14and
just as Moses elevated the snake in the desert, thus the Son of
Man has to be elevated 15that
all those believing in him (may not perish but*) may have
everlasting Life, 16for
thus God loved man's world, inasmuch as He gave [His/the]
only-born son, that everyone believing in him may not perish but
rather may have everlasting Life. 17For
God didn't commission [His/the] son into man's world that he
should judge that world, but rather that man's world should be
saved through him. 18The
one believing in him is not judged, but the one not believing,
has already been judged because he has not believed in the name
in the only-born son of God.
