1generation scroll of Jesus Christ, Abraham's son, David's son.

2Abraham fathered Isaac, who then fathered Jacob, who then fathered Judah and his brothers. 3Judah then fathered Perez and Zerah from Tamar. Perez then fathered Hezron, who then fathered Aram, 4who then fathered Aminidab, who then fathered Nahshon, who then fathered Salmon, 5who then fathered Boaz from Rahab. Boaz then fathered Obed from Ruth. Obed then fathered Jesse, 6awho then fathered David the king.

6b(King*) David then fathered Solomon from the {wife} of Uriah. 7Solomon then fathered Rehoboam, who then fathered Abijah, who then fathered Asaph, 8who then fathered Jehoshaphat, who then fathered Joram, who then fathered Uzziah, 9who then fathered Jotham, who then fathered Ahaz, who then fathered Hezekiah, 10who then fathered Manasseh, who then fathered Amos, who then fathered Josiah, 11who then fathered Jechoniah and his brothers upon the resettlement of Babylon.

12Moreover, after the resettlement of Babylon, Jechoniah fathered Salathiel, who then fathered Zerubbabel, 13who then fathered Abiud, who then fathered Eliakim, who then fathered Azor, 14who then fathered Zadok, who then fathered Achim, who then fathered Eliud, 15who then fathered Eleazar, who then fathered Matthan, who then fathered Jacob, 16who then fathered Yoseph, Maria's husband from whom was born Jesus, the one called Anointed.

17Therefore, the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen, and from David to the resettlement of Babylon fourteen, and from the resettlement of Babylon to the Anointed, fourteen.
