What qualified you to undertake such a translation

Hi,
This is a big undertaking. I just wondered what qualified you to undertake such a translation. Are you a trained Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic scholar? Translating the word of God is so important I just wanted to be reassured that you have the necessary training.
Sorry if I sound rude. That is NOT my intention. I am just really interested.

Hello R... !

Thank you very much for your visit, and most importantly for your concern.

You are right, this IS a big undertaking, and it has been my intention since I started, to consider it as such, for the word of God is never to be viewed as any lighter.

I must tell you straight: I have no credential, no formal qualification etc, and have never made any claim any otherwise.

Translating the Holy Scriptures has been my pass-time and passion for the last 12 years. I have made it a principle in my activities to rely on the Holy Spirit and the Bible itself to teach me the sense therein rather than to rely on the multitude of so called accredited schools, teaching as many different doctrines as there are offices of learning. The same goes regarding the Greek of the New Testament, I have not learned any other more contemporary forms of the Greek, but only that of the Scriptures.

As I am no Schooled in Bible translation, though educated in it, I have decided to be as transparent as I could. I have exposed the process by which I reach my 'finished' translation, and opened a medium (the blog) through which anyone more knowledgeable would have the opportunity to correct and redirect me. I have made my work as opened as I could for this very purpose.

All and all, after a few years of developing this interest, I finally resolved myself in getting organised and not loose my notes, and I found the best way to do it was by means of a website. As it developed, I set up the means by which others could help me: thus was born my websites. :-)

As you may understand, more than 200 versions of the Scriptures are rather confusing, and the many biases drawn from or imposed on the Bible are even more so. I found there is no better way to study the Holy writings than but knowing them personally, and as closely as a personal translation would require.

If you are trained in such a discipline, I would rejoiced from your participation, or if you know anything at all about any part of the New Testament, I would heartfully invite your guidance on my blogs.

In the mean time, please never hesitate to contact me for any reason you may have.

Gratefully yours
Sylvanus.
