ENGAGED IN TRANSLATION
|
SYLVANUS Sylvanus is
of course a pseudonym, or pen-name, in dedication of the Silvanus (or
Silas) of the New Testament, the writing companion of the apostle Paul.
Very little is known about him, apart from what is recorded in the Holy
Scriptures, but a lot must have been said on him during the first century,
as he accompanied Paul on his many missionary journeys, most probably
sharing many of his sufferings and blessings, or at least being a first hand witness to
it. Act 15:22, 27, 32, 34,
40, Act 16:19, 25, 29, Act 17:4, 10, 14, 15, Act
18:5, 2Co 1:19, 1Th 1:1, 2Th 1:1, 1Pe 5:12
